 Life is increasingly complex lately, not a few people ask: why do I often worry too much? Being anxious when you are in a stressful situation is a natural response. However, if we experience excessive anxiety for no apparent reason, we may be suffering from an anxiety disorder.

The more anxious we are about something happening, the more likely it is that it will. Actually, it's just a psychological clue, for example when we pass the company yard, we meet a gardener who is spraying pesticides on plants with a very strong smell. It turned out to be an event that left a deep impression on us at that time. So when we plan to come to the park, for example, the image of a gardener spraying pesticides will come to mind. The pesticide smell was so strong and unpleasant it formed a stereotypical memory.

Excessive worrying can trigger anxiety symptoms. People who worry too much tend to think too much and have little time to sleep. Therefore, before going to bed, people who worry too much will prolong the time to fall asleep and enter a state of anxiety, irritability and even panic. If it continues like that it will form a vicious circle with more headaches, migraines and other symptoms, which will endanger the health of the body.

Thoughts cannot be changed in a day or two, but we can change through action. As one of the solutions why I often worry too much, is to find something to do, and reduce unnecessary fantasies about the future through busy work. Start with the simplest things first. When we have something to do all the time, we certainly won't dwell on illusory things, and we can gradually regain confidence when we're busy. Anxiety that persists for years can make people lose confidence and gradually doubt their abilities.

The stress of anxiety that we suffer every day can really harm our body and health. One of the most affected is the body's defense mechanism or immunity. When under prolonged psychological stress, the body's cortisol hormone levels will increase.

Cortisol, a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands, plays an important role in dealing with physical stress, including increasing blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and producing an immunosuppressive effect, so it is also known as the "stress hormone." The amount of cortisol secreted by short periods of stress, such as vigorous physical exercise, has little impact on immunity. But if the stress is chronic, higher cortisol levels can reduce the production of white blood cells, suppress the immune system and reduce the immune response.

This is why some people tend to catch a cold or get sick after periods of "high pressure" stress (eg final exams, important work projects). Due to the imbalance of immune function, the body is susceptible to attack by germs, resulting in infection. In addition, studies have shown that high cortisol levels in the body can trigger allergic attacks and even worsen allergic reactions.

Sport is a physical activity that is good for physical and mental health. Research has shown that regular exercise can help relieve stress, increase the happy hormone endorphins, and boost immunity. However, it should be noted that if we exercise too much, it will put stress on the body and damage the immune system. Therefore, it is better to exercise properly, it is recommended to do at least 30 minutes of physical exercise at a time for at least three days a week to improve mood and immune function.

In addition to routine, we may want to make time for our own hobbies, such as reading a good book, listening to our favorite music, or painting. Doing whatever activity we enjoy is an effective way to reduce anxiety. Studies show that people with hobbies experience less stress, lower mood and depression. We just need to find an activity that we like and share it with those around us.
